La Quinta Golf & Country Club
Los Naranjos Golf


Located in the Benahavis valley near Marbella, La Quinta, which opened in 1989, offers 27 inviting holes of golf – but visitors soon find there is much more to La Quinta.

La Quinta also has a large driving range with a capacity for 100 golfers that has three different tee areas, a chipping area with three greens and bunkers.

The clubhouse boasts a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, children’s play area, underground parking, sauna, and a turkish bath. And if that’s not enough to be getting on with, there is also a golf academy run by three time world champion and former Ryder cup player Manuel Pinero, with weekly or weekend courses and four video rooms to analyse your swing.

The course is kept in immaculate condition with lush green fairways, and was designed by golf architect Antonio Garcia Garrido and Manuel Pinero.


Los Naranjos Golf Club opened in 1977, the second championship course in Nueva Andalucia from developer Jose Banus (the first was Las Brisas) Again, Robert Trent Jones was chosen to design the course.

The renowed golf architect considered Los Naranjos one of his best designs.

Los Naranjos front nine has rolling quite wide fairways, and the back nine is flatter and tighter as it is played through the beautiful orange groves which give the course its name.

Slightly longer than its sister course at 6457 Metres from the white tees, Los Naranjos has many strategically placed fairways bunkers and water to catch the unwary.

The SSS rating from the white tees is 75, making it one of the toughest courses on the Costa Del Sol. Los Naranjos is located near Marbella and Puerto Banus.
Los Flamingos Golf Course, Estepona
Valderrama Golf Course, Costa del Sol


Los Flamingos golf club is located in a beautiful enclave of Marbella with breath-taking views of the Mediterranean, Africa and Gibraltar.

The 5907 Meter 18 hole par 72 course was designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido and has many cypress, orange, olive, pine, carob and chestnut trees as well as a lake formed by the Arroyo del Taraje stream.

This is a new course in beautiful shape, a fair challenge to golfers from all tee positions. This course is an interesting addition to the Costa del Sol golf scene.


Voted the number one course in Europe by Golfing World, Valderrama enjoys lush green fairways and immaculate greens.
The fairways are fairly flat and tree-lined, with elevated greens well protected bunkers - the 6th hole alone is surrounded by six! and water affects three holes - the 5th, 11th, and 17th.

As the venue for the prestigious World Cup in 1999 and 2000, and the Ryder Cup in 1997 and the Volvo Masters (1988-96 and 2002) Valderrama has seen the top golfers in the world on its fairways.

The visitors can play from 12:00 midday to 2pm every day, but it is sometimes better to book tee times for this course weeks in advance.

The restaurant is open to visitors Thursday and Friday evenings, and Sunday lunch. Worth a look is the golfing museum of priceless golfing memorabilia.
Santa Clara Golf Course, Marbella
Los Arqueros Golf Course, Benahavis


Located just off the N340 near the hospital on the eastern side of Marbella, Santa Clara Golf Club is a new 18 hole par 71 course of 5878 Metres from the professional tees.

The well maintaned course was designed by Enrique Canales Busquets. The 360 acre state is being developed with luxurious apartments and villas.

The front nine has two par 3s, six par 4s and one par 5. The longer back nine has two par 3s, five par 4s and two par 5s.

Water comes into play on many holes and there are bunkers protecting most of the greens. Santa Clara Golf Club provides a challenge for all levels of golfer.

 


Set amongst the Ronda hills, Los Arqueros is just a short drive from San Pedro de Alcantara and Puerto Banus, and has lovely scenic views all the way down to the Mediterranean Sea.

This is one of the most tranquil and stunning settings to be found on the coast. Accuracy and direction rather than length are the key factors in producing a good round.

The 5874 Metre long par 71 golf course has three lakes supplied by the nearby Rio Verde. It was the first Costa del sol course designed by 1997 Ryder Cup captain Seve Ballesteros and opened in 1991, a challenge to all levels of player.

Facilities include a driving range, a practice chipping and putting area, saunas, air-conditioned squash courts and a fully stocked pro shop. The atmosphere at the club is both friendly and welcoming.
Finca Cortesin Golf Course - Duquesa

Designed by David Thomas and located amidst the hills of Benahavis, this magnificent golf course enjoys spectacular views of Gibraltar, the African Coastline, the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains.

Opened in 1999 the par 73 course is 6247 Meters from the professional tees and large greens require precise shots and become a real challenge to the player.

The front nine provides the unique experience of three consecutive par 5s, which not only represents a severe test early in the round but also offers some of the most picturesque scenery on the golf course.

The course is complimented by carefully contoured fairways with beautiful water cascades and strategically placed lakes and bunkers.
